Dr. Robin Steeves - President
Dr. Steeves began his studies in engineering in 1971 when he enrolled in the Surveying Engineering curriculum at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Since then he has had a wide range of experience in both theoretical and practical surveying, geodesy, computer systems development, and management. Since 1971 he has performed a variety of field surveys as Party Chief, taught university courses in geodesy and adjustment calculus, performed research in geodesy, managed and supervised research and development in geodesy, performed adjustments of many surveying networks of various types and sizes, managed the field survey program at the Geodetic Survey of Canada, and developed internationally acclaimed computer software.

Robin developed such programs as GEOPAN, the internationally acclaimed GeoLab software package, and the Coordinate Conversion Module, used by suppliers of geographical information system software. The GeoLab package is being used in approximately 100 countries around the world by private corporations, government agencies (including those in Canada, the US Department of Defense, Great Britain, France, Australia, Mexico, and many others), and many universities and colleges around the world.

Dr. Steeves has authored and co-authored 36 scientific and technical papers (see list below). He very much enjoys the challenges presented to him by surveying and geodetic consulting, computer technologies, and associated research and development.
